Explanation To Books Prisoners in Paradise
Climb aboard for a memorable experience!
Author Kathryn Braund is now a Golden Senior and proud of her status! Her life has been rich, as a stage and radio and vaudeville actress, a purebred dog breeder and exhibitor, a public relations executive, and as a librarian for het Air Force Minuteman Missile project. Her books include acclaimed five mystery novels as well as books about dog stories and care.
Kathryn opens her novel PRISONERS IN PARADISE in San Francisco, 1989 and thus opens the gate for this wonderful adventure lightheartedly: ‘Mark Russell had just returned from his five-mile run in Golden Gate Park when the phone rang. Headed for the bathroom, he let the answering machine take the call. But when he heard Janella’s voice on the message system, he hurried back to the living room. “I’m wet with sweat, Janella. Let me call you later.” “Mark, our plane just landed. We’ve got news you’ll want to hear.” “You’re here in San Francisco?” “Yes.” “Then come along…” And we discover that Mark’s assigned Little Brother from the Big Brothers Big Sisters died two years earlier, leaving deep grief scars on Mark, as well as panther claw scars from a ‘recovery’ adventure outing – and, unexpectedly, now he is given the opportunity to emotionally recover in a splendid rescue mission to come. And parallel to Mark’s introduction is the opportunity to meet the important Lia Paulsen (a divorced socialite) – same city, similar needs – and a very fine technique to begin a novel.
This sensitive style of writing is but one of the factors that make Kathryn’s book so memorable. The story relates a trip to the islands where the introduced characters and others are woven into a rich and exotic brocade of romance, mystery, terror, and passion – all related in a spellbinding manner. Her inclusion of the subject of human trafficking balances the luster with grime, and this creative decision keeps the story credible.
Reading this novel is a chance to explore the paradise atmosphere of the tropical islands, simply by reading the adventures of the well-painted characters as well as the well-researched incidentals about island foods and customs. This is one of those books to experience a flight of fantasy and excitement – an escape from the tedium into the realm of Paradise! Highly Recommended.

Judge Of Books Prisoners in Paradise
Prisoners in Paradise surprised me by having a lot more teeth and by digging deeper into a very serious and difficult subject as sex-trafficking. Dont let the authors age put you off. Kathryn is a very skilled author whose eloquent penmanship has crafted a compelling novel that I didnt want to end. Its the first of her books Ive read but will now work my way through the rest of Braunds books.Prisoners in Paradise surprised me by having a lot more teeth and by digging deeper into a very serious and difficult subject as sex-trafficking.
