Judge Regarding Books Depression & Other Magic Tricks
I won't pretend to know a hoot about poetry, but this is a wonderful collection. Easily one of the best books I've read this year. I loved the poet's way with words. There are times when you feel something but don't know how to express it. You may not know how to explain your thoughts to others because you can't find the right words or the closest metaphor. Sabrina Benaim nails such emotions and views with beautiful imagery.Sometimes, you may be confused about your own feelings and books can help

This was really well written but I'm a little torn on it. Some poems were beautiful (especially the ones on mental health) but some were just okay so it's hard to rate as a whole. "mom says where did the anxiety come from? anxiety is the cousin visiting from out of town depression felt obligated to bring to the party. mom i am the party. only i am the party i don't want to be at.""if i am late it is because i was too anxious to leave"

I was eager to read this collection ever since I've heard her perform "Explaining Depression to my Mother" which i've found while scrolling down youtube. However , and unfortunately , it didn't meet my high expectations at all. To be honest, I didn't like any of the poems in this collection except that one.I expected to read poems about depression, but the collection was rather on her love life failures .I don't know if it is just me , but is this really poetry? i get it that nowadays modern
