I think Tintin was the coolest person to ever exist.



Tintin, with his dog, Snowy, travel the world fighting injustices and solving mysterious cases. A fun comic book, and might I add, one of the very very very few clean ones, for kids! I definitely see why this has become a classic the world over!Ages: 8+Cleanliness: phrases such as good gracious, golly, great snakes and the like are sprinkled in the books. Because Tintin is fighting crime, there are drug lords and references to opium, heroin, and misc. drugs - never portrayed in a positive light.

A true Tintin classic and an important volume of the series for this is the first volume where Captain Haddock appears and becomes Tintin's sidekick besides Snowy (as a side note I would like to add that I've noticed that Snowy has much less dialogue and virtually no exchanges of dialogue with Tintin which was just comical in the earlier editions). Captain Haddock was the new character the series I think was needing. He gives a balance to Tintin's personality with his contrasting more brutish

Introducing... Capitain Haddock! I just love his swearwords.This album was written during World War II for newspaper Le Soir which was at the time in the hands of Belgian collaborators. Hence, Hergé couldn't continue with the politically inspired albums and chose for neutral terrain... Morocco. It makes for a nice backdrop, but the story is less engaging than Le Sceptre d'Ottokar.
